“Clients know what they want, but they don’t always know what they need,” Katie says. “To be an effective leader, I have to go beyond the initial request. I have to look at the financial history of their business, as well as their current situation, and I have to consider how all those elements factor into their financial future. I can’t just follow. To be effective, I have to lead.”
